Pietro Montanini, Petruccio Perugino
Perugia 1619 – 1689
Oil on canvas, cm 96×136
Landscape with Tobiolo and the angel, with frame. Montanini’s pictorial production shows an acute ability to receive the tendencies of Pier Francesco Mola’s painting (1612-1666) and especially of Salvator Rosa’s landscape (1615-1673) for its picturesque whims and particular atmospheres. The work in question shows precisely this adhesion, for the sensitivity of touch similar to that of the Neapolitan artist although with a different lighting concept .
